Aerontec acquired by Biesterfeld Group, further expanding its reach in Africa

Hamburg/Cape Town, 3 June 2024 – Biesterfeld Group, a leading global distribution and service company in the field of plastics, rubber, and specialty chemicals, has announced the acquisition of Aerontec, a prominent supplier and distributor of advanced composite materials and technology in South Africa. The transaction was finalized on Monday, 3 June, 2024, making Biesterfeld the sole shareholder of Aerontec Pty Ltd.

Since its establishment in 2002, Aerontec has evolved into a leading distributor of advanced composite materials in South Africa. With a wide range of products catering to industries such as marine, transportation, consumer goods, and aerospace, Aerontec has established certified warehousing and distribution facilities in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Jeffreys Bay, and Durban.

According to Dirk J. Biesterfeld, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Biesterfeld AG, the sub-Saharan region is of great interest to the company. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed by the parties involved.
