Mein Schiff 7 is christened in the Kiel Fjord, the ultimate event of the year on the high seas

TUI Cruises celebrated the christening of their newest fleet member, Mein Schiff 7, on Sunday 23 June, 2024 in the Kiel Fjord. The event was a highly anticipated affair, culminating in a spectacular drone show and fireworks against the backdrop of Kiel.

The christening ceremony was opened by Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, on the pool deck of the ship. Guests were treated to an impressive performance by dancer and choreographer Chris Cross, followed by a breathtaking drone show with 400 drones creating images of the feel-good fleet in the night sky. The ship’s godmother, Fenia Kalachani, broke the bottle of champagne at the bow of the ship, officially christening it as Mein Schiff 7.

The evening continued with a live concert by special guest Ben Zucker, known for his popular songs “Was für eine geile Zeit” and “Na so?!”. The event was attended by celebrity guests such as Andrea Kathrin Loewig, Bettina Cramer, Natascha Ochsenknecht, and more.
